Amber Whitfield joined the Help Me Grow Alabama team as a Central Alabama Regional Care Coordinator at the United Way of Central Alabama. Amber has 7 years of early childhood experience as a Head Start teacher for Jefferson County Committee of Economic Opportunity (JCCEO), a teaching assistant for Birmingham City Schools, Lead teacher in two First Class Pre-K classrooms, and as a Child Development Consultant with Childcare Resources. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Alabama and a Master of Education degree from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. Through her teaching experience and several volunteer opportunities, Amber has continuously expanded her knowledge around child development and how effective community involvement can be when it comes to the advancement of a child.
